No Place Like Home Art Exhibition

Our residents’ community art exhibition ’No Place Like Home’ ran at Penrith City Library in June and Dougherty Community Centre in Chatswood in July.

Community resident artists, local government representatives, and Link Wentworth board directors and staff attended the launch events. The exhibition highlighted the importance of affordable, safe, and secure housing through art—showcasing how having a home can transform lives.

Karen: “I’ve never had a place to call really my own in my adult life. The place that Link Wentworth has provided just gave me a whole new life.”

Wei: “I don’t feel my art is special. The action (of drawing) for me is special.”

Genevieve: “I am mad about colour.” Her art is about overcoming fears and fulfilling the need to create.

Mary: “I enjoy the idea of drawing and hope to pass those pointers onto my granddaughter.
