Calling all Hawkesbury residents

We invite you to join us at workshops in November where we will develop and test practical and affordable cooling methods that you can put in practice straight away.

This project is part of a research study on how the summer heat in Western Sydney affects our daily lives. The project involves researchers from Western Sydney University along with partner organisations: Link Wentworth, Bridge Housing, St George Community Housing, Faith Housing Alliance and Bidwell Uniting.

Your participation will involve attending three half-day (3.5 hours each) workshops in a community space near your home. In the first workshop we will work together to come up with ideas to stay cool during summer, both now and in the future.

In the second workshop we will rank the ideas from the first session and figure out how they can work in your community this summer.

Help us design low-cost cooling activities to beat the summer sun!

The final implementation workshop will focus on planning how to carry out actions to make us climate-ready and get our community involved.

Please contact Vanessa from the Communities team at communities@linkwentworth.org.au if you are interested or would like more information.
