CHIA NSW’s Cadetship Program now open

The third round of the Cadetship Program run by the Community Housing Industry Association of New South Wales (CHIA NSW) and the NSW Government is open for applications until 28 October 2022.

Link Wentworth strongly encourages our residents to check their eligibility and apply if they are interested in a career in the community housing sector. Successful applicants will be placed in paid employment with a community housing organisation for 12 months while completing a Certificate IV in Housing. The course fees are completely paid for.

Tionnie

Link Wentworth is a strong supporter of the program, and in 2021, we took on Tionnie, our first cadet. Tionnie now works full time with Link Wentworth as a Tenancy Manager and recently won an award for her achievements. Her advice for people considering applying for the program? “Go for it!”

“If you like the idea of being able to assist some of the most vulnerable people within our communities gain housing that is safe and secure and to help them to grow within the community, then this is the career for you,” she says. “CHIA and Link Wentworth’s support throughout the whole process has been amazing! I will be forever grateful for this opportunity and encourage you to apply.”

You can read about the program in further detail on CHIA NSW’s website.
