Link Wentworth is partnering with Homes NSW and Housing Australia to replace seven (7) existing homes with 86 new high-quality, long-term social and affordable homes for the Lane Cove community.
Link Wentworth will own 43 Affordable Homes and operate 43 Social Homes (owned by Homes NSW) under a 49-year lease.
Designed by a high-quality consultant team led by DKO Architecture, the new 6-storey residential flat building will provide 36 1-bed, and 50 2-bed dwellings arranged around a central landscaped courtyard providing communal open space and a strong connection to the adjacent Mindarie Park.
Planning approval was granted in June 2025 under the streamlined approvals rolled out by the NSW government.
A D&C Contract award anticipated in March 2026 with practical completion anticipated May 2028.
Demolition works have been completed.
Anticipated timeframe to commence construction works on site is August 2026.
The Lane Cove North project sits well within the surrounding urban character and is the final building within the precinct.
The rooftop community gardens provide tenants space to connect and be active while enjoying connection to Lane Cove National Park and views beyond.
The design has a strong focus on sustainability providing a fully electric building supported by a large solar generation system on the roof and future proofed capacity for electric car and bike charging.
The design maximises solar access and cross ventilation and has been design to meet the needs of residents of all ages and access requirements.
