Stockland Consortia announced as preferred partner for Waterloo – Statement from Link Wentworth CEO, Andrew McAnulty

What an amazing moment in time!

I am so grateful to the NSW Government and Homes NSW for selecting the Stockland led consortia as preferred proponent and for placing their trust in us for what I believe is the most important social housing regeneration project in Australia.

I am humbled to work with my Board and colleagues at Link Wentworth and our inspirational partners, Birribee Housing, led by Paul Coe, City West Housing, led by Leonie King and Stockland, led by Tarun Gupta.  Over the past two years the values alignment, empathy, passion and shared desire to create a positive difference in the lives of the Waterloo community has been palpable.

Most importantly, I am looking forward to meeting, listening to and working with the Waterloo residents over the coming weeks, months and years, to understand the communities’ hopes and dreams, and over time, improve the homes and futures of current and future residents of this amazing part of Sydney.

I cannot think of better words than those shared by our Chair, Mike Allen, when I told him the news:

“This is a history-making moment for all of us, our staff, and our clients present and future. It is also a great testimony to the vision of so many that led to the creation of Link Wentworth. I am so very proud of all of you and proud to be part of such a wonderful organisation, with such an exciting future.

It is also important to acknowledge the efforts, commitment, and professionalism of our consortium lead Stockland, and our CHP partners City West and Birribee. The strength of relationship and value seen in each other has been both powerful and a point of difference in seeing our bid through to this winning outcome.

There will be time to say more and to celebrate in the days ahead, but this is a career and organisational defining moment that few get to experience – so, enjoy! What a way to celebrate our 40th anniversary, the icing on the cake!”

I would like to also warmly thank the existing tenants of Link Wentworth and especially our incredible Tenant Advisory Group (TAG) and Reconciliation Action Plan Advisory Group members, who I had the privilege to personally brief this lunchtime – I found this very emotional. I am so grateful for your friendship, trust, encouragement and guidance over the past 11 years, as we improve and grow our services and seek to increase our impact. It is clear to me, that your role in re-assuring the existing Waterloo community will be both welcomed and important.

We look forward to working with the NSW Government and our partners in Providing Homes and Building Futures for the community of Waterloo.
