From Monday 21 August to Monday 11 September, Link Wentworth will be running our Adult Learners Festival. With topics as diverse Tai Chi for beginners, computer basics and learner road rules, there should be something for everyone to enjoy.
These courses have been developed in partnership with Nepean and Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Community Colleges and are provided to Link Wentworth residents absolutely free.

Do you want to get your licence but don’t know where to start? Join us for lunch and a road rules study session.
Enjoy this ancient Chinese art form, consisting of exercises with gentle movements designed to build inner harmony, balance and flexibility. It has been recognised for its many health benefits such as decreasing stress and helping those who suffer from arthritis. With practice, it can be an effective aid to good posture, health and wellbeing.

No previous experience necessary, this is a Beginners class.

This Social Media workshop is designed to take you through the popular social media sites, what they offer and how to customise the many settings to suit your desired level of privacy and security.

Art therapy has been shown to benefit people of all ages. Can assist with improving communication and concentration and can help reduce feelings of isolation. This type of therapy has also been shown to lead to increases in self-esteem, confidence, and self-awareness.
No art skills are necessary, come and enjoy the process of making your own creations in a supportive, happy and calm environment.

Have you always liked working with clay? In this course you will learn how to use and manipulate clay using the techniques taught in this class. You will also use tools appropriately and learn how to store clay.

Bring along your piece of clothing and let our tutor show you how to give it a fabulous new life!
Navigating the online world can be a little tricky at first, but this workshop will teach you some essential skills to “Surf the Net”, and look for information online.
Air dry clay is a great clay for you to create your own decorative pieces without the use of a kiln. Sayo will teach you easy clay forming techniques such as slab, pinch pot and coil. All important hand building techniques that you will use to create your own unique pieces.
Week 1 – Hand build a shape – learn pottery techniques to create your desirable shape (your pieces will need several days to dry and be ready to paint in week 2).
All materials supplied:
Clay tools, paints, finishing varnish.
Week 2 – Adding colour to your pieces – paint and varnish your pieces to take home with you.

Interested in Arts? In this workshop you will feel free to express yourself any way you want! You will participate in practical demonstrations in various media so that you can build your talent and improve your techniques in drawing and painting with watercolor.
What is a computer and what can it do for you? If you find using a computer frightening or fruitless this workshop will leave you both confident and competent to use them productively.
